Vintage Hand Carved Storage Decor

When Artisan Hugo Saavedra saw this vintage wooden quart jar crate (possibly from the 1960’s) from the Cotton Club Bottling and Canning Co., he immediately envisioned it being a storage unit with the look of having a seating cushion on top. The crate from this Cleveland, OH soft drink processing company was originally used to hold 32oz full quart jars of soda. With Saavedra’s handcarving attached to the top using a wooden hinge, it now can hideaway magazines, books, and treasures. The carving compliments the original metal edges that reinforce the crate’s structure, which also has two handle openings on either side to easily move the piece around.
